The solution

Ceiling acoustics

CNC Machined 24mm ALTO Float and ALTO Blade hit the mark by offering acoustic performance, stock colours that worked with the designers scheme and a product that is light weight, eliminating the need for heavy structural fixings into the fabric of a Grade 1 Listed building.

Printed acoustic walls

Our ALTO Tex track system was the perfect product for areas requiring greater acoustic results whilst retaining access to riser doors and services. By enlarging the images to cover complete walls we were able to deliver visually strong, changeable imagery into meeting rooms.

Framed acoustic wall portraits

Using stunning imagery from The National Portrait Gallery’s, Taylor Wessing Photographic Portrait Prize winners we manufactured bespoke frames that housed ALTO sheets, wrapped with photographic quality acoustic prints.

  • Working within a Grade 1 listed building on the Royal Albert Dock in Liverpool came with a unique set of challenges for the interior design concept. The first and foremost being acoustics. ALTO Tex for both the open plan as well as the cellular spaces meant that reverberation was drastically reduced, all whilst maintaining a very high level of detail and aesthetic. ALTO Tex also meant that the client could display images from the National Portrait Gallery’s – Taylor Wessing Prize and still make the space feel intimate and comfortable without unnecessary echo. The ARTWORKS team worked closely with ‘kin and the principal contractor ADT Workplace to develop a design solution that both the client and design team absolutely loved.
